This year Southside Little League will be having its first annual Hit-a-Thon on Friday June 11th. The registration fees you pay only cover a
portion of the operating costs of the ballpark. We mainly rely on donations from our sponsors, revenue from the snack bar, and fundraisers to help
cover our costs and provide new supplies and equipment for our children. The continued success and growth of the park depends on everyone’s support.
The goal of the Hit-a-Thon is to raise enough money to fund the cost of a new big diamond pavillion. That cost is roughly $10,000. This will
enable us to remove the current structure and replace it with a new unit for the PA system and scorekeeping.
We want to encourage every player to participate in the Hit-a-Thon. We are asking that each child set a goal for themselves to raise at least
$50. Even if you raise less than $50 you will still be eligible for the free hot dog and drink the day of the event. We do encourage each
child to try and raise at least $50. All of the participants will receive a free hot dog and drink on the day of the Hit-a-Thon. To participate
please obtain pledges from friends and family members. This will be a fixed pledge amount.
Each player will be allowed 3 hits. Pitching machines will be used with the older children while T-ballers will hit off the T.
All pledge sheets and funds should be turned into your coach or team parent no later than June the 5th. On June 5th, there will be a designated
location to turn in your pledge forms and money. When you turn in your sheet you will be given a ticket for your free hotdog and drink that you can
redeem on the night of the Hit-a-Thon. All checks should be made out to Southside Little League.
The prizes are listed below:
- $50 Prize: Hit-a-thon T-Shirt.
- $100 Prize: Bat bag/Helmet
- $150 Prize: Baseball/Softball bat
- $400 Prize: Hitting Net
- Grand Prize for person who raises the most money: Wii Game System or iPod touch
- Team Prizes: Team in each division that raises the most money wins a bowling party.
The night of the Hit-a-Thon we will have other activities going on as well as the grill fired up
for hot dogs and hamburgers to eat. There will be a dunk tank available and we are planning
on having some of your favorite coaches and umpires sitting in the hot seat just waiting for you to
plunge them into that cold cold water. This year we will also have a pitching tunnel so that you can see how fast you throw. Music and corn
hole games will also be available as well as door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.
We hope that you all can attend the Hit-a-Thon and we also encourage you to invite your sponsors
to join the festivities at the ballpark.
